1. What is a newsreader?
Newsreaders are programs that let you read newsgroups. Newsgroups are forums for discussion that are most comparable to e-mail lists, except that the messages are publicly viewable. Most newsreader software functions like an email client, making it very easy to browse messages and content from different newsgroups while also allowing you to bookmark or subscribe to the newsgroups of interest to you. Today's newsreaders are binary capable, meaning they will also download, decode and reassemble user generating binary files, saving you a lot of time and trouble.

2. I did not receive my login details.
If you did not receive your login details please have the password sent to the email address you signed up with here. If you still do not receive your login information please contact support at support@newshosting.com.

3. I receive an error logging into the software.
Please note that it can take up to 30 minutes for an account to become active. If you continue to encounter problems logging in after this timeframe please insure that both are entered correctly as usernames and passwords are case sensitive. If after verifying login information you still cannot login please contact support at support@newshosting.com.

4. I cannot connect to Newshosting.
Please be sure that the port that you have selected to use, which can be found by selecting "Options" and then "Settings" and then clicking "Connection", is enabled by your firewall. To modify any firewall settings, please consult your specific model's owner's manual.

5. I'm new to Usenet. How do I get started?

6. How do I use the index?
Simply type a keyword or partial keyword in the search box located in the upper right hand corner of the newsreader and hit enter. You can change the search engine used by clicking on the magnifying glass in the same search box and selecting your preferred option.

7. I can't find what I'm looking for.
If you can't currently find what you're looking for try different spellings that may be related to your search. If you still are unable to locate what you're looking for we suggest reattempting your search at a later date. Millions of new posts and up to 12 terabytes of new data occur each day!

8. I cannot open the downloaded file.
